Fanconi’s Anaemia vis-à-vis Kulaj Pandu and Its Ayurvedic Management: Case Study
Abstract
Fanconi’s anaemia is rare genetic disease characterised by progressive depletion of hemopoesis, it is considered as Kulaj or Sahaj Pandu according Ayurveda. Acharya Chakrapani mentioned that blood loss having deranged hemopoesis or early destruction of corpuscles ought to be considered as Pandu and all other condition may be termed as Rakta Dhatu Kshya. Diagnosed patient of Fanconi’s anaemia of 8 years of age was managed with ayurvedic medicines, patient responded well management with improvement in all blood indices and clinical improvement. Ayurvedic approach to disease and line of treatment is discussed in paper.
