Management of Geriatric Disease vis-à-vis Sahaj Vyadhis through Ayurveda
Abstract
Abstract
Degenerative diseases are comparable with Sahaj Vyadhis that are observed in patients with advancing age. In recent years average life span has increased to 80 years, this has resulted in problems arising from advancing age i.e., aging disease or degenerative disease. The Sahaj Vyadhis are due to changes in body due to aging, if these changes occur before its usual time prompt management and life style modification is necessary, but in case of timely aging disease no treatment is possible, i.e., radical management has limited role to play but management that improves quality of life is necessary. Rasayana therapy is one such treatment measure that arrest aging or gives quality life in geriatric disease. Details are discussed in this paper.
