Awareness and Use of Internet among Postgraduate Students of K.M. Shah Dental College and Hospital

The internet conveys a broad scope of data assets and administrations for example, the interconnected hypertext reports and applications of the world wide web (www), the foundation to backing e-mail and the distributed systems for file sharing and telephony. In dental training, new teaching systems utilizing electronic media have been presented which incorporates both computer helped learning and tele-dentistry. At present the utilization of information and communication technology (ICT) in dental education has been sporadic and no rules for its use or quality exist. To determine the awareness and use of internet among postgraduate students of K. M. Shah Dental College and Hospital. It is a cross-sectional questionnaire study which was conducted to determine the awareness and use of internet among postgraduate students of K. M. Shah Dental College and Hospital (KMSDCH). For the study purpose, questionnaire based proforma was distributed among the postgraduate students. In the present study, 44.35% of participants were female and 55.65% were male. 99.1% of subjects made use of internet and almost 85% used university wi-fi subscription. Almost 80% used bookmark and had knowledge regarding google drive. 40% subjects faced problem during internet use and 27% of subjects were active web bloggers. World wide web and e-mail is used for both the private and educational purposes that have been widely adopted and were employed together with www-based medical and dental publication databases by postgraduate students of KMSDCH. Postgraduate students of KMSDCH were having insufficient knowledge regarding the scrupulous use of internet.
