Abstract

The long-term access to veins for periodic infusion of chemotherapeutic drugs is desirable due to various reasons. This can be achieved by either percutaneous or surgical cut down approaches, each with its own merits and demerits. In a patient with bilateral breast cancer the insertion of port can be worrisome and various alternative access veins have been described. Here we describe a case of woman with bilateral breast cancer where we inserted the catheter through one of the tributary of axillary vein, a relatively novel vein not described earlier.
