Abstract

Abstract:
Tamakshwas is a type of Shwas vyadhi which is correlated with bronchial asthma in modern science. It is associated with difficulty in breathing, as a result of which the patient prefers to sit in bed to get relief from his discomfort. Tamakshwas is an important disease affecting Pranvaha strotas due to its episodic and chronic course which comes under the life threatening diseases. In this study 60 patients of Tamakshwas were registered and randomly divided into two groups, out of which 30 patients in group A was given Nidigdhikadi choorna for 7 days and remaining 30 patients given Krushnadi choorna considered as group B. The effects of therapy in both groups were assessed by statistical analysis. The results of the study indicate that “Nidigdhikadi choorna” provided better relief than “Krushnadi choorna” in Tamakshwas.
