Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to compare the effectiveness of resistance training versus aerobic training for reduction of cancer related fatigue and improvement in quality of life. A comparative study. Participants were selected from The Government Cancer Hospital, Agartala and few private cancer clinics. A total of 20 subjects were recruited for the study on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria after signing the informed consent form. MFSI-SF was used to measure cancer related fatigue and QOLS was used to measure quality of life. The result of present study indicates that both resistance and aerobic training improved the quality of life in subjects with CRF. However, resistance trainings were more effective in both physical score (PS) and mental score (MS). The present study concluded that resistance training is more effective in reducing fatigue in subjects with CRF as compared to aerobic exercise.
