Abstract

Research represents the lifeblood of the researcher, institute, university or a country.
It empowers everything we do, from our innovative teaching methods to our growing economy. This study is an endeavor to investigate the research output, authorship pattern, publication share, annual growth rate and h-index in BRCA (Breast cancer) research. Scopus database is consulted to evaluate the articles from the year 2002–2012 to achieve the research objectives. The results reveal that there is a colossal gap in the publication pattern in top 20 countries. The study depicts that US are leading in BRCA research output with 40.19% of publications, followed by U.K with 9.05% publication. Among these countries India has 2988(1.93%) publications in the area during a period of 10 year ranging from year 2002– 2012.
