Intraoral Kinking of Endotracheal Tube: An Anatomical Consideration
Abstract
Airway obstruction is a common occurrence during general anesthesia and its causes may be various. It is important to bear in mind all the possibilities of airway obstruction. The authors found a case of airway obstruction during an ENT surgery due to kinking of an endotracheal tube (ETT) intraorally. It is a rare finding which is going to be reported here. The endotracheal tube is kinked nearly 15 cm from patient end due to acute angulation at junction of hard and soft palate.
