Extranodal NK/T-Cell Lymphoma; Dilemma in Diagnosis and Management: A Review of Literature

Abstract

Natural killer (NK) cell neoplasms are rare malignancies. They are classified as extranodal NK-cell lymphoma, nasal type, and aggressive NK-cell leukaemia. Clinically they can be classified as nasal type, non-nasal type, and aggressive lymphoma/leukaemia. Stage I/II Nasal NK-cell lymphoma are treated by combined chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In case of stage III/IV nasal NK-cell lymphoma, as well as non-nasal and aggressive lymphomas/leukaemias, chemotherapy is the main treatment. In selected cases, allogenic or autologous stem cell transplantation is also an option.
