Scientific Proof for the Use of a Verdura Mela Gain Cream Formulation for Vitiligo
Abstract
The present article deals with the clinical efficacy of Verdura mela gain cream in the treatment of vitiligo. The in vitro findings prove that the cream increases tyrosinase activity and melanin pigmentation. Safety of the cream is also established through zein protein hydrolysis and fibroblast toxicity assay (MTT assay). Anti-oxidant nature of the cream is evaluated by anti-oxidant assay and inhibition of nitric oxide production.
Keywords: Vitiligo, anti-oxidant, scientific proof, non-cytotoxic, free radicals
