Ghiza (Diet) According with Different Mizaj and Different Phases of Life
Abstract
The principles of Unani medicine provide the way of preservation and promotion of health. According to Unani medicine, health can be preserve and regain by modification in asbab-e-sitta-e-zarooria (six essential factors). Ghiza is an importance factor in asbab-e-sitta-e-zarooria. A wide spread literature on the concept of ghiza was mentioned in the Unani medicine. The Unani physicians prescribed the diet not only to maintain the health but also as a part of treatment of ailments. The way of treatment by ghiza called as ilajbilghiza (dietotherapy). In the classical Unani literature, the ghiza was mentioned according to the mizaj and different phases of life. Here an attempt has been made to give a brief description on the concept of ghiza according to different mizaj and different phases of life.
