Abstract

Cases of hypertension have been showing an increasing trend worldwide. The prevalence of hypertension increases with age and several other factors. Complications of hypertension are stroke, heart failure, retinopathy, renal failure and even death. This study shall not be an attempt to go into any of the debatable issues about relative efficacy of homoeopathic management in hypertensive cases. It seeks to analyse basic data about the pre-hypertensive and hypertensive patients who choose to undergo homoeopathic treatment in a homoeopathic hospital either for hypertension or for some other complaints or both. A total of 149 hypertensive patients were included in the study and a non-validated survey was conducted to assess the etiological factor and/or comorbidity and lifestyle associations including addiction, salt use etc.in this group of patients. Data is presented, where applicable, pictographically.
